Sending a Mail/Care Package

Send mail to inmates at this address:

Inmate Name & Register Number
RRM Miami
401 N MIAMI AVENUE MIAMI, FL, 33128

While all mail will be inspected by the RRM Miami staff, if the mail is marked “special,” it can only be opened and inspected in the presence of an inmate. Inmates at the RRM Miami can also subscribe to magazines and publications that come directly from the published as long as they are not sexual or violent in nature.

Some inmates can also now use email, and should inquire at the prison about possibly setting up an email account.

Sending Money

You can send money to an inmate at the RRM Miami three different ways.

Money gram: Funds are processed every day, and inmates at the RRM Miami should receive the funds within hours of your deposit. Call 1-800-926-9400 or visit the Money gram website to set up an account and send funds to an inmate.

Western Union: To send by Western Union, you will need the inmate's eight digit register number with no spaces or dashes and the inmate's last name (example: 12345678DOE). You can set this up by calling 1-800-634-3422 or by visiting the Western Union website.

USPS: You can mail a money order. You will need the inmate’s full name and eight digit register number. Do not send any type of money except a money order.

Phone calls

Inmates cannot receive phone calls, but they are set up to make phone calls. Inmates at the RRM Miami pay for the phone calls, often from their commissary account, which you can send money to.

Visitation

A few overall things to remember:

First, locate the inmate. You can search online, and verify the whereabouts of an inmate. After this, you will need to get pre-approved for a visit. An inmate will need to place you on their visitor’s list, and you will be subject to a background check. Prepare for your visit by knowing what to wear (nothing provocative and no violent graphics on your clothing). Plan your visit and nail down a timeslot to visit the inmate at the RRM Miami.
